Andrés Castro

Based in Grecia, Costa Rica, Andrés Castro is a versatile guitarist celebrated for his mastery across genres like power metal, death metal, jazz, and groove metal. With over a decade of experience performing worldwide, Andrés has toured Europe, Asia, and the Americas, sharing stages with legendary acts such as Black Sabbath, Slayer, and Megadeth.

Currently a member of internationally acclaimed bands like Sight of Emptiness, Wings of Destiny, and Savage Existence, he combines technical skill with innovative artistry. His extensive education, including studies under Berklee-trained mentors, adds depth to his compositions and teaching.

In recent years, Andrés has focused on incorporating new sonic textures and soundscapes across all his musical projects. From recording alongside Gary Holt at The Hideout in Las Vegas to performing traditional Costa Rican folk music in collaboration with the country’s Minister of Culture, Fishman pickups have been essential tools in his journey—allowing him to express that full sonic range with precision and depth.
