Turnpike Troubadours are an American country music band formed in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in 2005. The band consists of Evan Felker (vocals, guitar), RC Edwards (bass), Kyle Nix (fiddle), Ryan Engleman (guitar), Gabe Pearson (drums), and Hank Early (pedal steel, Dobro, keyboards). They gained popularity for their blend of country, rock, and Americana, with songs that often explore themes of heartbreak, hard living, and the realities of life in Oklahoma.
The band's name is a nod to both the bumpy Oklahoma toll roads and the folk heroes of the past. Their music is known for its raw, authentic sound, drawing comparisons to artists like Woody Guthrie and Waylon Jennings.
Turnpike Troubadours have released several critically acclaimed albums, including their self-titled 2015 release and 2017's “A Long Way from Your Heart.” After a hiatus in 2019, they returned with a new album, “A Cat in the Rain,” in 2023. In the spring of 2025, the band released the album “The Price of Admission.”
