Andover, MA – Fishman’s SA220 has won the m.i.p.a. award (Musikmesse International Press Award) for Best Acoustic Amplifier at Musikmesse/ Pro Light + Sound 2009.

A truly prestigious international award, m.i.p.a. has become known as the "Grammy" of the Musical Instrument/Pro Audio industries. m.i.p.a. awards for best products in 40 different categories are voted on by 112 music and pro audio magazines from around the world.

The awards are then presented to the winners at a special party and awards ceremony attended by over 300 international music and audio distributors during Musikmesse.

Launched in Q3 of 2008, the SA220 quickly became one of the top selling portable P.A. systems on the market. Well-received from its initial launch where it won “Best of Show” at Summer NAMM, the SA220 has garnered rave reviews, editor’s picks, and other accolades for its sound quality, design and portability.

SA220 is now the go-to system for solo acoustic performers and professionals such as Jerry Douglas, Jeff Pevar, Bob Weir, and Pat DiNizio.
