Grammy Nominations Galore for Fishman Artists

The 54th GRAMMY® Award nominations have been announced for the biggest night in music.  The GRAMMY® Award ceremony is set to take place on February 12, 2012 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Congratulations to all of the Fishman artists who received nominations this year!

Mumford & Sons' "The Cave" from their debut release "Sigh No More" [Glassnote Records] is in the running for Record of the Year. The hard-rocking Foo Fighters (who use Fishman pickups and acoustic amps) got an Album Of The Year and Best Rock Album nod for their new release "Wasting Light" [RCA Records/ Roswell Records], which was produced by Nirvana producer Butch Vig.

The Band Perry continue their 2011 hot streak with a nomination for Best New Artist. Aura users Coldplay were tapped for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance along with fellow Fishman artists Maroon 5.

This year, Alison Krauss & Union Station were nominated in two categories for Best Bluegrass Album and Best Engineered Album for “Paper Airplane” [Rounder]. Also in the running for Best Bluegrass Album is another Fishman artist, Jim Lauderdale with his summer release “Reason and Rhyme” [Sugar Hill Records].

In the category of Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance, Fishman user John Petrucci and his band Dream Theater were nominated for "On The Backs Of Angels," along with Foo Fighters. Musician, actor and author Steve Earle was nominated for Best Folk Album for “I’ll Never Get out of this World Alive" [New West Records].

Ellipse Matrix Blend users Kings Of Leon made the cut for Best Rock Album "Come Around Sundown" [RCA Records]. Portland, OR based band The Decemberists received two nominations for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for “Down by the Water” from their album “King Is Dead" [Capitol].

Zac Brown Band was nominated for Best Song Written for Visual Media for “Where the River Goes (from Footloose).  Foo Fighters got yet another Grammy nod for Best Rock Song, along with Fishman UK artists Radiohead, Coldplay, and Mumford & Sons. Radiohead was recognized again for Best Alternative Music Album, along with My Morning Jacket.

Music legend Levon Helm was nominated for Best Americana Album for his live release "Ramble At The Ryman" [Vanguard/Dirt Farmer Music]. Also selected in that category were Emmylou Harris for "Hard Bargain" [Nonesuch] and Lucinda Williams for "Blessed" [Lost Highway Records].

Other Fishman artists that were nominated were Maroon 5, Gregg Allman, Warren Haynes, Thompson Square, Grace Potter, Keb’ Mo, Bela Fleck, Eric Church, and Sarah Jarosz.
